Now available from our website:
Garden Tea, First Flush and Second Flush, 500g, Harvest 2007 from Ambootia.
Ambootia, in the foothills of the Himalayan Mountains, is one of the most famous tea estates in Darjeeling. It was among the first tea gardens established by the British in the mid-19th century. At Ambootia, “tea is a way of nature.” In 1992, Ambootia transitioned to 100% certified organic and biodynamic production. In 1994, it became Fair Trade certified.
Organic cultivation contributes to environmental sustainability; it also creates a healthier environment for workers. “Our experience at Ambootia leaves no doubt … about the close association of organic and biodynamic farming, social welfare, and Fair Trade. It has developed a well-integrated, selfsustaining, ecologically balanced and economically viable community,” the workers at Ambootia agree.
